Ard Righ is pronounced Ard as in “hard” and Righ as in “high.” It is Gaelic and means High King. For centuries, the Ard Righ ruled over Ireland. In 1002 A.D. Brian Boru became the Ard Righ. Legend has it that Brian liberated Ireland from the Viking occupation. Today, the story of Brian Boru is second only to that of Saint Patrick himself in popular Irish history. It is from his line that my ancestors descended, and how I came to choose the kennels’ name.

Through the years, my wonderful wife, Connie, and I have bred and raised many fine dogs. Our ambition is to consistently produce championship caliber bird-dogs that possess exceptional speed, endurance, and most of all brains. We seek dogs that run way to the front, effortlessly gliding across the country in a highly animated fashion, homerun type dogs that may not always win, but will always be thrilling to watch.

Usually, we plan to have two or three litters a year. Most puppies are sold to field trialers or sportsmen who are looking for an exceptional gundog. A few pups are held back and later sold as started dogs and some move on to field trial competition.

We are very proud of our dogs and the fine people that train and handle them in the field. We invite you to explore our website and feel free to contact us to learn more about our dogs. Thank you for visiting us.
